Feedstock Optimum Ltd develops an economically viable and transparent forest fuel production concept in Russia. Concept will be piloted in the forest concessions in the Republic of Karelia and the Leningrad Oblast.
Project Manager of Feedstock Optimum Ltd, Mr. Jarmo Ylinen tells that entirely proper transport technologies are not available in the trucks or rail from Russia, because the Finnish transportation stock there can not operate as efficiently for example due to different road legislation and poor condition of roads. "The ultimate aim of the project is a transparent concept for a full scale deployment and availability of wood energy in a significant increase in particular power plants in South-Eastern Finland and Karelia, shortly to rise to new power plants and pellet mills," continues Mr. Ylinen.
The recommendations achieved during the project can be used to reduce the transport performances by transporting more energy for example by better loading and drier wood having bigger energy content.
The project is funded by the Finnish Foreign Ministry of the ENPI CBC Programme. As a quality assurance and operational tool for energy wood deliveries works MHG Systems´ MHG Bioenergy ERP Service developed for global use in bioenergy supply chain management. Next stage the service is tailored for Ojat Group and its subsidiary enterprises', reveals MHG Systems' Managing Director Seppo Huurinainen.
